VLM AIRLINES ‘MOST PUNCTUAL’ BETWEEN AMSTERDAM AND LONDON

- Announcement comes as route celebrates its 3rd birthday -
4th April 2008 – VLM Airlines has beat off a host of leading carriers to be named the most punctual airline on the popular Amsterdam to London City Airport route for 2007.

Figures just released from the UK Civil Aviation Authority show that last year, an impressive 77 per cent of VLM Airlines’ flights from Amsterdam to London City Airport left within 15 minutes of the scheduled departure time. Only two per cent were delayed by more than one hour.
Other carriers operating the Amsterdam to London route which VLM Airlines surpassed on punctuality include KLM, Easyjet, British Airways and BMI British Midland, who fly to other London airports.

This announcement coincides with the route’s 3rd birthday which takes place on April 4th, and also follows the prestigious ‘Passenger Airline Award 2007’ VLM Airlines was awarded last month by Amsterdam Airport Schiphol for its London City service.

Johan Vanneste, Managing Director of VLM Airlines, said: “We take great pride in the services we offer on all our routes. Our business clientele, who traditionally represent around 80 per cent of our customer base, particularly value our high quality service and repeatedly return to us for our consistent punctuality.”

Vanneste said: “It’s pleasing for everyone at VLM Airlines that our Amsterdam to London City service had such a strong year – being named the most punctual service on the route and also receiving the prestigious Schiphol Passenger Airline award is a huge honour. To beat off other larger carriers in the process makes it all the more rewarding.”

VLM Airlines launched its Amsterdam – London City route in 2005 with three flights every weekday. Today, the airline operates 12 flights every weekday between these two cities. In 2007 this route accounted for 22% of all passengers of the VLM Airlines network. Over 325.000 passengers were transported on this route in the last 3 years.
