Ardo in negotiation with Frenzel about take-over of Austria Frost

17 October 2008 - Ardo has made progress in the negotiations with Frenzel about the take-over of Austria Frost GmbH in Austria. The agreements in relation to the take-over will be finalised until end of October to arrive to a final take-over by the end of the year. By early 2009 the activities of Austria Frost GmbH will be integrated in the Ardo Group.

This take-over fully fits within Ardo’s expansion policy. Austria is the perfect location for the further development of Ardo’s market position within Austria and the surrounding Central Eastern European countries.

In its continuous search for new cultivation areas, this take-over means a perfect opportunity for Ardo. Indeed, the production unit of Austria Frost is situated in the middle of a fertile growing area at the borders of the Danube, with crops among others of peas, spinach, carrots. Several preliminary meetings with local growers to discuss support and knowledge exchange have made both parties confident about the potential for further development of the growing area.

Within the framework of this acquisition, Ardo’s relationship with Iglo Austria will be an integral part of their growth strategy for the business.

Thanks to Austria Frost’s wide product range of fresh frozen products and its packaging technologies, this take-over will add further value to Ardo’s existing portfolio.
