The MTV Europe Music Awards are known as the ‘music oscars'. They were created in 1994 in order to honour the music and artists, who young people in Europe like. Designed as an international celebration of music and pop culture from a distinctly European point of view, the event represents the definitive poll of European tastes.

Alfacam, the Belgian TV facilities provider, is based at the Eurocam Media Center in Lint near Antwerp (Belgium). The company offers services to TV stations and production houses. Alfacam’s 24 multi-camera television facilities trucks (OB vehicles) of which at present 15 are capable of making HD recordings, are recording large music and sports events around the world. Yearly, Alfacam carries out more than 1200 jobs. 60% of the assignments are done in HDTV.
